DMCA & takedown policy
How to ask us to remove material from nakoda.ai that you believe infringes your copyright, what happens after you write to us, and how a counter-notice works.
Our approach
We respect the intellectual property of others and expect the same of everyone who contributes to this site, including event organisers, media partners, directory listings and blog contributors.
We respond to notices that follow the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and to equivalent notices under the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 38 of 2021 on Copyrights and Neighbouring Rights. The process below covers both.
What to include in a notice
1. Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed, or a representative list where several works are involved.
2. The exact address (URL) on nakoda.ai of the material you want removed, and enough detail for us to find it on the page.
3. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is unauthorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
5. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
6. Your physical or electronic signature.
Where to send it
Email the notice to hello@nakoda.ai with the subject line "DMCA notice". Written notices by post go to the registered office shown in the footer of every page.
What happens next
We acknowledge every complete notice within 2 business days.
Where the notice is complete and the claim is clear, we remove or disable access to the material promptly and tell the person who supplied it, where we know who that is.
Where a notice is incomplete, we write back with what is missing so it can be completed.
Counter-notice
If material you supplied was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same address.
Include the material that was removed and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address and telephone number, your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you are located (or of Dubai, UAE, if you are outside the United States), and your signature.
We pass a valid counter-notice to the original complainant. Unless they tell us within 10 to 14 business days that they have started legal proceedings, we may restore the material.
Repeat infringement
Contributors who are the subject of repeated valid notices lose the ability to submit material to the site, including event listings, directory entries and comments.
Misuse of this process
A notice or counter-notice that knowingly misrepresents the facts may make the sender liable for damages. Take advice if you are unsure whether material infringes your rights.
